One of the best places to eat in the world is Mama's fish house on North Shore near the airport. www.mamasfishhouse.com/ They have amazing fresh fish, sushi and drinks. The Ahi salad is to die for. It comes toped with fresh ahi tuna and some yummy crunching things, I think are nuts. The oceanfront setting and ambiance are world class. The open air, ocean views, and tropical landscape epitomize Maui island style paradise. It's a about a 45 minute a drive from the condo in Wailea so you may want to stop there on the way in after landing at the airport or on your way out, or just make an evening of it and see some sites on the north shore. You could stop in Paia Town for shopping or Hookipa, one of the best beaches on Maui. When you go be sure to stop by the bar for a Mai Tia and check out the photo of owners Floyd and Dorris (Mama) Christenson with their family on sail boat in front of a deserted island some where in the south pacific.
